At White Rock North School, we believe that children learn best when they have opportunities to move, create, explore, and engage with the world around them. While enrichment can sometimes be treated as an addition to the school day, we believe physical activity and the arts are an essential part of a well-rounded education.

Through daily opportunities for exploration, individualized learning, and hands-on discovery, our students develop physical confidence, fine motor skills, creativity, and a strong sense of self. At WRNS, learning extends beyond the classroom, encouraging children to explore their interests, discover new abilities, and experience the joy of learning through active, “meaningful experiences.”, taking away the emphasis on screen time.

The Rink & The Pool

Beyond traditional gym games, our students build coordination and cardiovascular health on our historic 1978 indoor roller-skating rink and develop life-saving skills in our seasonally-heated pool.

Visual Art

Our students are happy to put down the stylus and pick up the brush, the clay, and the charcoal. By getting their hands dirty with physical mediums, students develop the fine motor skills that complement our focus on traditional penmanship, while learning to solve problems creatively.

Music

We believe in making music, not just consuming it. Our students engage in tactile learning-mastering physical instruments and understanding the mathematics of rhythm. From their first notes to performing confidently for our guests at North Park Mall, our music program builds unshakeable self-esteem.

Dance

As part of our commitment to the “whole child,” dance provides a joyful outlet for self-expression and physical discipline. Students develop spatial awareness and rhythm, learning to move through the world with grace and coordination.
